Overview of the sailing ship that carried 32 year old William Williams I and family, including 12 year old son William Williams II, for the four month trip to New Zealand in 1841.
Possible baptism record is on findmypast.co.uk for 12 Jun 1809 for William Williams (possibly Wm Will I) in St Peters church, Carmarthen, South West Wales with father William and mother Mary .
This would mean he had just turned 32 at the time of sailing.
They were previously based around Newport Cardiff, so must have travelled to Plymouth to make the trip. i.e.
From Newport / Cardiff area in Wales, to Hawera / Cardiff Taranaki New Zealand.
Looking at the names on the passenger list, there are a number of familiar family names that occur in the family tree, which may be coincidence due to being common names, or they may have been related families making the trip.
A description of the trip is provided here.
