Born 12 March 1928 Thames New Zealand

Elizabeth lived just North of Tirau in her early years, on a farm at the end of what was Mains road (now Rangipai Rd), with her parents Harold (1900-1984) Harold and Elsie Main (1903-1998). Her early school years were at Rangipai School, then later would ride on horseback to school in Matamata.

After secondary school, at Waikato Diocesan School for Girls, she sailed to England, (around 1952) where she spent around a year with her school friends. Clive had met her at a dance at Mount Maunganui, when both families were there on holiday. He asked her to marry him just before she left (1952), and they married shortly after she returned to NZ (1953).

Married Clive Williams 26 Sept 1953 (at aged 25) in Putaruru.

At some point shortly after the death of Harold’s father William Main, in 1951,
Harold and Elsie Main moved onto the farm and homestead (Oaklands) just to the East of Tirau. Her two younger sisters (Ruth Castle (1931) and Margaret Oldham(1935)) lived there with her for a short time.
After she married (1953), Clive and Elizabeth took over running / bought out the farm. (Harold and Elsie Main remained on the property until Harold died -1984 aged 84)

From 1957 Clive and Elizabeth farmed 1100 acres of sheep and beef farm at Tauhei (Parahiwi), plus 500 acres of beef farm at Tirau (Oaklands). (Clive had worked on Parahiwi since his teenage years and was in partnership with his father until 1957)
They built a home (1952-53) and raised the family of five on Parahiwi.

The Tauhei farm was part of a larger block purchased by HD Williams around 1935.

Clive and Elizabeth sold Parahiwi around 1979 and moved to a small farm on Heatherington rd Tirau, very close to Oaklands.(where her parents Harold and Elsie Main still lived).
After some years they sold the Heatherington rd property (around 1981), Elizabeth moved to Cambridge and Clive to Auckland.

After a few years living in Cambridge, Elizabeth married Ivo Harris (around 1986), a long time acquaintance from Tauhei, whose first wife Hazel had died in the Mt Erebus plane disaster in Antarctica.

Elizabeth developed Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and died during the course of treatment on Apr 15 1991 (at age 63)  Hamilton, New Zealand.
