Pauline Anne Bolton (B:1932 D:2022) 89 yr
Daughter of H D Williams and Muriel (Mona) Lowery
Siblings: Zetta, Keith, Meryl, Clive
Born: July 17 1932 Morrinsville New Zealand
Pauline was brought up, along with her siblings, on the 550 acre farm at Seifert rd in Tauhei.
Pauline went to Tauhei school, starting in 1938,
Tauhei Scool,
Tauhei History (50 page PDF),
see page 12 for school role (1938).
After secondary school she trained as a nurse and for many years was a District Nurse, travelling the area looking after people at home.
Married: Peter Antony Bolton (1932-1996) June 20 1959 (at 26 yr) in Morrinsville, New Zealand.
Peter was a farmer and they ran Pauline’s portion of the Tauhei farm as a dairy farm for some years. Peter could never seem to stay in any one place for too long, so they moved away and worked a number of farms around the Waikato.
During this time, Pauline and Peter raised four children, Mark, Richard, Jeremy and Rachel.
Pauline had a good eye for antiques and picked up many in her travels. Eventually she opened an Antiques shop on the top of the Bombay hills, below Auckland.
After a few years, the motorway bypassed the shops and she closed her Antique shop down.
Around the same time the family bought a fish and chip shop in Mangatangi, just below the Bombay hills, on the Waikato side. Apparently some of the children became expert burger makers.
Once the children had grown and moved to Australia, Pauline moved into Auckland, where she often had exchange students living with her.
Farm:
Over time, the 550 acre farm in Tauhei at Seifert rd, retained by HD Williams, and where Pauline and her siblings were brought up, was sold / transferred to his children, Zetta, Meryl and Pauline who employed managers to run the farms until they were eventually combined or sold.
Meryl also bought / took over Zetta‘s, Keith‘s and Pauline’s parts of the block.
Pauline died sitting in her favorite chair, on 2 Jan 2022, aged 89, presumably peacefully in her sleep.
